Field produces of Cassava from the farm

Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the entire family of PT Bogor Labs visited the Citapen Educational Farm at the invitation of Mr. Razaini and his colleagues from Citapen Plantation for the first harvest of Ristono Cassava.

The Ristono cassava plants are tall and easy to pull out when harvested. The harvesting time ranges from 7 to 10 months. One plant can produce about 20 kg of cassava! ☺️

Ristono cassava is also characterized by its long shape. The flesh is slightly fibrous and has a slightly sweet taste, though not as sweet as butter cassava. To prepare it, it needs to be boiled for a long time and tends to be a bit dry. It is better suited for making chips.

The experience of this first cassava harvest was very enjoyable, as everyone worked together to pull out the cassava. The harvest from half of the field was over 200 kg! 😍

The students at the plantation were also very active! They explained the cassava variety, demonstrated how to pull out the cassava, and showed us how to cut it from the root. Mr. Razaini also explained to us how to plant the Ristono cassava seedlings!

It was truly a valuable and unforgettable experience! Thank you, Pak. Imam, Pak. Razaini, and the students at Citapen Plantation for the invitation to the cassava harvest! 😊
